Mmmmm Blueberries
We had a great time this past weekend going blueberry picking....and eating! We went to a near by Orchard (www.erieorchards.com), which is geared up very nicely for picking fresh fruits all season. Right now the blueberries and peaches are in season. We are hoping to head back this fall for the apples as well! Plus they also have fun activities for the kids. I am sure Brooke will love feeding the goats when she gets a little older.
Here are a few of the picture from our outing. This is also the first time we got to try out my baby backpack, which worked out really well.
Brooke loved squashing the blueberries between her fingers.

One Year Pictures
We took Brooke for her one year pictures at Portrait Innovations. I was very excited that we timed her naps right, and there wasn't a wait when we got there. We got some very cute pictures of her. (They took about 70 pictures, and I tried very hard to limit them to keep the post from being too long.)

We also managed a family picture. We are trying to take one family picture each year. I must say I am quite impress with my color coordination of the outfits.

Eggs!?!?
Well we tried eggs again with Brooke this morning, and she broke back out in hives. So it looks like we may have a food allergy on the list. She looked very said this morning with itchy checks, and pulling at her ears. (We are still trying to get her in with the ear, noise, throat pediatrician to have her ears checked out.)
She is finally a sleep, and found that keeping her binky on her thumb helps with putting back in after each cough.

One Year Doctor Visit & Stats!
Brooke survived her 1 year Dr. Apt today and three shots! Poor thing :(
I also had the doctor check her ears, since she always seems to be messing with her right one. The normal check didn't notice anything, but then I suggested the pressure check. (A lady at work mentioned an issue her kid was having.) The doctor found the pressure in her right ear drum wasn't quite right. I am kind of disappointed I had to suggest the pressure check, but regardless glad to find something, since I know Brooke kept acting like it was bothering her. The next step is actually taking her to Children's Hospital. Hopefully, they can get her in soon, and find something very, very easy to fix!
We also got her stats at the appointment as well. She is still a little peanut! Height = 28" (25%), Weight = 19.2 lbs (10%) - This is the same weight she was at 11 months, and Head = 17.5". We actually thought she had a pretty good belly on her, but apparently she is a little small. The doctor wasn't worried, and just said they had to make sure she didn't drop below the chart on her next visit. Brooke is also approved to start trying any foods! The only thing to really avoid was shell fish. I guess no shrimp for her just yet.
Here is a good picture of her "little" belly! At the cottage it is tradition to give the babies baths in the kitchen sink.
Brooke also decided to bring in some cupcakes to daycare tomorrow. Plus this gave me another opportunity to work on my cake decorating skills!

Brooke Turns 1!
Happy Birthday to my baby girl! We have had such an amazing year getting to watch our little baby grow into a little girl. We got to celebrate her birthday at the cottage with a huge group of my family. It was pretty crazy with 3 babies & 2 dogs, but a great time! I tried to limit the number of picture, but what can I say she is just such a cutie!
Here is her famous sign picture for the day! Got to love those eyes. :)
What's up dude?!?! We also found out that Brooke got two teeth as well for her birthday! Her two front top ones on the right side of her mouth. (None on the left side yet.)

Modeling her party crown.

She had a few different ones that she shared with Emi.
Emi was quite the "helper" all night, checking out all the new toys!

One of her favorite "toys" was the card from Grandma & Grandpa, which played this silly song when you opened it.

I love her baby blue eyes. She definitely gets those from her daddy.

Well after probably 5 hrs of work..I think I need to take up different hobby than cake decorating! At least it tasted yummy :p
