Weekend Craziness

We had a very busy and fun filled weekend! Both of my sisters came up to Michigan for the weekend, including my niece, Emi, and nephew, Clayton. Nick & my brother-in-law, Derek, headed over to the family cottage for a work weekend. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to show all the progress, and hard work they made on the cottage, but I do have tons of pictures from our adventures!

Friday morning, we all headed off to the Flat Rock Community Center for a nice swim in their in-door swimming pool. Besides a few people in the lap lanes, we had the pool all to ourselves.

Here is a pre-picture of Brooke & Emi in their matching cover-ups. It took Brooke a little while to get warmed up to the pool idea, but Emi of course was ready to play right from the beginning!

Ta da! You can also see little Clayton sleeping in the background of this picture!

Tara & Emi

Some how I managed to squeeze into my tankini...however, there weren't going to be ANY pictures of that above water!

Aunt Lea & Emi coming over to say hi!

The girls loved each other's company and absolutely wanted to do everything together! Here is a picture of them nicely brushing their teeth.

Most mornings & evenings consisted of us sneaking over to the neighbor's swing set to get out a little bit of energy. This was Brooke's first time on the big swing!

Emi of course was a champ at the big swings!

Bath time after our nice busy fun day!

Clayton even woke up to help with bath time!

Look at that big guy picking up his head!

Aunt Lea reading the girls their morning stories.

Brooke first time with holding baby Clayton. Emi stayed close by to give her lots of help!

Who would have guessed this car was big enough for two!?!?

Finally on Sunday we ended our fun weekend, by letting the girls get out all their energy at "triangle park".

Look mama no hands!

Brooke did find running on the bridge as one of the most fun & funniest things!

22 months old!!

We were very blessed to be given such wonderful weather for Brooke's 22 month birthday...which also fell on Mother's Day!! Once again Happy Mother's day to my wonderful mom, Linda Spokane, and my wonderful mom-in-law, Joyce Buchman!

I spent the day being able to sleep in, and relaxing with my favorite little daughter, my fantastic hubby, and crazy puppy! It was a wonderful day.

Brooke enjoyed checking out our tulips, which have finally bloomed! Since our families are about 3 weeks ahead of us in the season, most of theirs have already lost their petals. (See there are some advantages to being in Michigan...right?)

They even smelled just wonderful!

The famous sign pictures sure aren't getting any easier to take, but still very entertaining for me!

This picture gives a very good look into Brooke's personality. Some say she takes after her mommy, but based on this picture I think she is more like her father!! :)

Overall, Brooke remains a very happy, and easily entertained kiddo. She absolutely loves it when you chase her around the house trying to catch her, playing tug of war with her puppy dog, and trying to get you to read her as many books as possible at bed time.

She continues to love ravioli for dinner, however anything covered in peanut butter is of course at guaranteed winner. She also absolutely loves dried strawberries, and will make every effort to try to sneak the cereal with them, and pick out the strawberry pieces!

Happy 22nd month birthday Boo! Before you know it you will be 2 years old...and have a little brother...crazy!!

Speaking of little brothers...here is my 29 week picture :)

Frogs & Monkeys!

Brooke has two favorite animals...frogs & monkeys! Whenever we are having our morning debate on what to wear, I know if a find an outfit with either a frog or a monkey, I am guaranteed to have a happy kiddo. (Elmo too of course)

Therefore, when daddy found a frog in the yard, Brooke was very excited to say "hi"!

After the experience with the butterflies, and having our crazy puppy running around the room, we thought it best for the frog's safety to keep him enclosed in a little container.

"Look at that...he moved!!"

It took a little convincing to get Brooke to give him a kiss good bye....

However, she was more than happy to have her baby give him a kiss! (Her own idea.)
