Easter Egg Hunt!!

My Aunt Donna & Uncle Jerry have graciously held an annual Easter Egg hunt at their house since like FOREVER!! I can even remember hunting eggs there. (Well even when I was little...there were a few years, when we were really short on little kids, and the teenagers were counted as kids, and had to find eggs.) Fortunately, the next generation of little people has really started to grow!

Every year before the start of the hunt all the kids have to line up on the stairs for an annual picture. Little Clayton barley made this picture, but he is in there! I had a few more of him completely on the steps, but other kids had escaped at that time...so this is the best one I have of everyone! Some how we are all a little related...even if its through cousins' counsin's kids, etc. Every year if fun to get together!!

Brooke did a great job finding the eggs, and adding them to her basket. She was so excited every time she saw one! Fortunately, there was about 150 plastic eggs hidden, so lots to go around. The trick is to count them all at the end, and see how close to the 150 you can get! (The adults are sent out at the end to find those missing eggs.)

I really did try to cut out lots of pictures, however it was just so hard to choose!!

"Look at that one."

Dadda even helped with a few of the higher ones!

"Wow is that really two eggs!!"

We were so excited the weather ended up turning out to be beautiful!

Wordless Wednesday

Butterfly Show

This past weekend we traveled down to Cincy & Dayton, OH. We spent Saturday afternoon at the Butterfly Show at the Krohn Conservatory. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

We started off the adventure with Brooke throwing a penny into the wishing pond. (Actually, it took some pretty good convincing to try to get her to give up the bright shinny penny given to her by Grandma!)
There were so many exotic and beautiful flowers, I didn't even come close to getting pictures which represented how pretty they were.

Attempt #1 at having Brooke hold a butterfly. Lets just say it ended with Brooke squashing the wings, mommy screaming, and Brooke crying...oops. Better luck next time!

Attempt #2 with holding a butterfly. This time I though I would lightly place the butterfly on the top of Brooke's hand..therefore eliminating the option of squashing the wings....

Attempt #2 wasn't any more successful, as Brooke freaked out, and rubbed the butterfly off. (At least mommy didn't scream this time.) In both cases, the butterflies did survive the ordeal, and we decided we wouldn't try for a third attempt.

We decided to spend the rest of the time admiring the butterflies from a distance and the amazing plants on display!

I think Brooke is going to stick with playing with plants, and leave the butterflies to the other kids!

Overall, it was a great exhibit, and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

21 Months Old!

Brooke is now 21!! We have been battling a cold again for the last week, however finally she was back to her smiley perky self today! She decided to celebrate the day with pigtails! She thought her sign was quite funny, and decided to move it around to different positions, none of course were easy to read.

Also, kicking the sign was very entertaining!

She is now officially this big!!

She loves to make funny faces by sucking in her bottom lip.

She has also been requesting many time to play in the baby swing. She used it some while she was a baby, but really thinks its funny now. Too bad it doesn't put her to sleep and she just tries grabbing the owls, and touching the buttons.

She will also always be more than happy to stick her tongue out at you...especially when you ask!
