Four Binkies...is NOT enough

So apparently, four binkies is not quite enough, seeing as Brooke manges to throw all of them out of the crib. Also, nap time has turned into a bigger process now that Brooke has figured out the process to roll over to her belly, and then push herself backwards until she is sitting. We keep on going in to her room in the middle of the night to find her sitting and crying :( I don't think she has figured out how to lay back down yet.

We also found out yesterday that she does have croup, so we were given some medicine to help her get over it quickly, but it surely doesn't help at all with trying to get her to sleep at night! We are glad to finally have something identified, as I think she has been sick off and on for the last few months.

Judging by the pictures below, you can see she is quite proud of her new skills! Official count...one...two...three...four...binkies on the outside of the crib.

Crawling?? Nope

Brooke is getting closer to crawling, but still hasn't moved forward and continues to scoot backwards. She recently learned that she can go from tummy time to sitting by going backwards!

She just loves sitting, so everytime we now try tummy time this is what we get...

9 Month Check Up & JC Penny Pictures

Brooke had her 9 month check up this week. Here are her stats; Weight 17 lb 13 oz (50%), Height 26 1/2" (25%) and Head 17 1/4". So she is a little short, and little chunky! She hasn't started to crawl yet, but the Dr. said not to worry. As long as she is crawling by 14 months it's no big deal. The Dr. also suggested we try Brooke on some children's claritin for a week, and see if this clears up her constant runny noise and coughing. She is wondering if it could be due to allergies. Besides her runny noise, she got a clean bill of health. Plus she said we should start trying meats, and all the fruits and vegetables. Brooke's one bottom tooth feels like its come through, but despite all my efforts in trying to take a peak, I still haven't been able to see it.

We also tried for her 9 month pictures at JC Penny, and were pretty disappointed. Every time she had a good smile the photographer waited, and didn't get the picture in time. I think we are going to travel to Portrait Innovations soon to try them over.

This is the only picture of her smiling, but we really wanted one of her facing the camera.

The photographer got lots of pictures with her tongue out.

9 Months Old

Brooke turned 9 months old today!! I also felt her first tooth coming through today...what an exciting day :) She is still such a happy baby. She does a great job with eating, and loves all the different flavors of baby food from mixed fruits, mixed vegetables, and even the meat and vegetables mixes. However, we still think that pears is her favorite! She goes to bed around 8 p.m. each night, and either wakes a 5 a.m. for a quick snack or stay a sleep until around 8 a.m. We do have the occasional night where she wakes up a few times as well in the middle, but this is only a few times per week.

We have her 9 month check up next week, so I will get her official "stats" on her height and weight at that time. Fortunately, NO shots at this appointment~! Yeah!

She has also start to scoot a little...more in a circle or backwards, but normally she just prefers sitting and playing with her toys. She might start crawling soon...but she hasn't started yet.

She has also start to wave at you when you come or leave, and give you a "high five", which she thinks is very, very funny. O'ya..she think almost everything is funny, especially peak a boo!

Easter Egg Hut!

We had such a busy weekend...I decided to break up the weekend into three separate blot posts.

Each year my cousins host an annual Easter egg hunt, and family reunion at their house. Its always so much fun to see everyone, and this year it was wonderful to finally have the little kids around to hunt again. (We all just grew up too quickly, and there were years when the youngest kids hunting were like +10.)

The fun has begun! Brooke found two eggs so far, and they are quite yummy!

Finally, the most fun time was had afterward, when Emi and Brooke got to go through their baskets and review all their treasures. The next set of pictures speak for themselves! Its was just too entertaining to watch.
